Who came to dinner?

Many of America's coastal regions have legends dating from the Second World War, often involving German U-Boats and the clandestine activities of their crews. In Maine, it’s long been rumoured that three German sailors were found wandering around looking for food after their craft became stranded and were invited to a Thanksgiving dinner, which they attended and then tried to pay for. A modern day filmmaker has tried to recreate this story: read about it here.
