I read in the Boston Globe Online – and I have absolutely no evidence to support this – that the first recorded 'Christmas Tree' was decorated in Riga, Latvia in 1510, with sweets and fruit. On the basis Latvia is in Europe and Christians will soon be celebrating Christmas, I thought it was worth a mention!
