Plants have a history too…

Sunday December 28, 2003
Marty Wingate's article 'Shedding light on plant history' seems unrelated to European history at first, but when you consider the issues he begins to raise – how plants have developed alongside humanity and how we have affected their locations and characteristics – you begin to see a hidden side of history. Admittedly, people generally treat debates about mankind's interaction with the environment like they would a mad cousin at a wedding, but I felt this article was a good way of 'dipping your toe in the water'.
