The 'Last Of The Last'

France has only fourteen soldiers left from the millions who fought in the First World War (five less than the UK – does anyone have a figure for the US or Germany?) and all are aged 105 or more. However, what should have been a simple debate about how to mark the final passing of this generation has turned into an argument, one some soldiers have found grossly morbid. Read more here.
