Palace Discovery May Rewrite Roman Foundation History

The discovery of a large and potentially royal building on Rome's Palatine Hill – over ten metres below the modern surface – may rewrite the early history of Rome, placing a palace and surrounding support culture in an era when Rome was thought to be a few small buildings. This article provides more information, but it also shows how hard the archaeologist responsible is trying to invoke ancient myths for justification.
