How Britain treats the Past

Clive Aslet's article for Britain's The Times newspaper begins with a look at how Britain treated a famous battlefield (they built a large road through it, rather than the museum the author probably would have preferred), takes a meander through what people in Britain regard as part of their heritage and identity, and finishes with a subtle dig at Europe (well, it wouldn’t be part of a British newspaper without one!) All in all a thought provoking piece, even if you don't agree...
