Recollections of a Bevin Boy

In Britain during the Second World War thousands of men were conscripted to work in coalmines to keep the country supplied with fuel. These were the Bevin Boys, and their job was far from being a ‘free pass’ out of danger. This fascinating article from the Scotsman newspaper contains the recollections of two Bevin Boys.
