“Battle Bones” Reveal Secrets

Archaeologists don’t just “dig up” bones for the sake of it; modern analysis can tell a huge amount about a person’s life and death from the examination of their skeletal remains. This article from a British local newspaper explores how the bones from a battle in the Wars of the Roses enabled us to learn more about how medieval weapons were used and what sort of damage they really did. The article also says they’re using this information to introduce children to the subject. I know cartoons are quite violent these days but I’m not convinced it’s suitable myself…
