Bletchley Park Needs Funds
Friday September 12, 2008
During the Second World War Bletchley Park was the centre of British code breaking efforts, where a team of experts managed to break German ciphers and invent the era of modern computing while doing it. Now the buildings are museums, but the centre faces a crisis unless funds can be found soon as the wooden structures are rotting (they were only supposed to be temporary). IBM and PGP recently gave $100,000, but $5 million is needed for the repairs. Technology websites have sent out a call for donations, which can be given via the Bletchly Park website. ZDNet has a video about the situation.
