Napoleonic.org gets a Facelift

Friday September 26, 2008
The “Fondation Napoléon” is dedicated to the study of all things Napoleon, and their website is one of the better resources on the web about the Emperors of France. It recently received a substantial development which included, as well as a pleasing new look, a section for children (or at least, younger teenagers). It may seem strange to people in the English speaking world that a site about Napoleon would need to provide information in a child friendly format, but I think that’s because those parts of French history aren’t regularly taught in English and American schools. In contrast, and I don’t know for sure but I’m assuming, that Napoleon and the revolution which preceded him is taught to French children. Either way, their website is well worth a look if you’re interested in the topic, and even if you know all the history features like “Painting of the Month” are excellent.
