Pirates, Corporations, Credit Crunch

This article from Science Daily attempts to make a parallel between modern corporations and the organisation of pirates and privateers in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, bringing the “credit crunch” into the equation as well.. Is it successful? Let me know your opinions.

It was an interesting article, but far too short, and I would have liked some more source materials (of course, it wasn’t written for an academic audience, but still).
