Napoleon’s Novel for English Release

The romantic novella Napoleon wrote when he was 26 is to be released in English later this year. People are often surprised to discover a man known for a career of conquest once sat down and wrote romance, but as a young man he did so. The work is entitled ‘Clisson et Eugénie’ and reviews of the French edition have been mixed: while the publisher claims it will show Napoleon as “an accomplished writer of fiction” others aren’t so sure. At the very least it should be an interesting insight into a complicated character.
