Normally you only see stories about 'who really wrote Shakespeare's plays', to which I generally sigh and say Shakespeare. However, there's a change this week as a London academic thinks he's indentified Shakespeare as the co-author of The Reign of King Edward III, a play published anonymously in 1596. The other author, who apparently isn't as good, is alleged to have been Thomas Kyd, a man forgotten now but well known in his era. Somewhat oddly, the academic, Brian Vickers came to this conclusion after using a piece of software designed to catch plagiarizing students. The Telegraph has more on the science behind it.
