Large Hoard of Roman Coins Announced in Britain

By June 1, 2012

Follow me on:

I admit that "fifth largest" isn't the most impressive way to begin a news piece, but a 'hoard' of Roman coins which has been found in Britain may be the fifth largest to be uncovered there. The coins, which number over thirty thousand silver pieces, were actually found in Bath in 2007, but have been kept secret while they were examined and processed. Luckily, the 'Beau Street Hoard' was discovered by archaeologists who will be able to squeeze out as much information out of the find as possible. If you like Roman coins, or perhaps live near Bath, numismaster.com has more details.
