Potential Royal Body almost Destroyed by Builders

Regular readers of this site will know archaeologists working in Leicester have been looking for the grave of unpopular English king Richard III, and they found a body which has a - admittedly very small - chance of being the king. Clues are coming from the damage the bones have sustained. Well, there's some more news now, and it's how close the bones came to destruction. It was always going to take a remarkable stroke of luck for the body to be Richard's, and there's been one: the archaeologists discovered that Victorian builders came within inches of digging through the bones when laying foundations - and that would have wrecked them.
