The Bayeux Tapestry is missing a final section, commonly believed to take the story of the Norman Conquest up to the coronation of the new William I. The Telegraph has a fun story about a group of enthusiasts from the island of Alderney, who have been working on a new final section for display locally. They've organised, got an arts grant, attempted to stay true to the original while working in local references, and have been receiving help from all sorts of places. If you want to take a look at what they're doing the link is here (I'd hoped for better pictures of the new pieces), and if you want to learn more about the tapestry we have an article here.
