Mike Edmunds is the head of the Antikythera Mechanism Research Project, and he's responsible for examining one of history's greatest (history of) technology discoveries. The Antikythera Mechanism was originally thought to be a lump of corroded bronze, but it was soon discovered to have gears, and is now believed to be a proto-'computer' from Ancient Greece dealing with astronomy. The Houston Chronicle have a nice, albeit short, interview with Mike about the device and new approaches.
