Londonís Science Museum shows Babbage's Plans

By February 15, 2013

Follow me on:

Charles Babbage has a claim to be the inventor of the computer, even though his ideas where never properly built in his lifetime and languished unnoticed while Bletchley Park really did invent it. We have an article explaining Babbage and his ideas, but if you want to see his plans you have two options: London's Science Museum has put a selection of the key documents on display for the first time, and obviously that's the best view. However, their website has put a couple of pieces online, and it's nice to see what a pioneering set of drawings can look like: surprisingly accessible.
