Guide Review - Kellys Heroes DVD
Ignore the slight moral problems (lets go AWOL and steal some already stolen gold...) and enjoy what's actually a funny, light hearted adventure set amidst the Second World War. Clint Eastwood plays the dry, quiet Clint Eastwood character, Terry Savalas plays the tough Terry Savalas character and Donald Sutherland plays a mad hippy tank driver. Yes, it's that sort of film. However, there's still plenty of serious battles which, whether by design or accident, showcase both the Sherman and pretty good replica Tiger tanks, as well as a few in jokes about Western films. If you want realism and accuracy, you won't like Kelly's Heroes, but if you want a great Saturday afternoon film set during WW2, you'll love it.
