While individual Battle Zone Normandy books lose out to larger works in terms of historical material, so does the whole series. A set of these fourteen hardback volumes will cost £210 ($420) at the maximum price, enough for a small library of other books, and I wish paperbacks had been made available so more people would contemplate the package. That said, the set is one of the best on the market: a joy for wargamers, with all the orders of battle and plenty of scenario ideas, a joy for walkers with tours through the terrain of many gripping events and a perfect set of reading for beginners; even well-read experts may find the modern photography of interest!
