Henry VIII of England

Information on King Henry VIII of England.
Biography of Henry VIII
Although short by print standards, this is a relatively long biography for the internet.
'Good friends and brothers?'
Henry VIII is famed for his wars, but this essay explores a different aspect of his relations with France: his friendship with King Francis I. Glen Richardson's essay is tied into the opening of the Channel Tunnel with connected Britain and France via the English Channel.
'Henry VIII's early foreign policy, 1509-29'
The subtitle for this essay is a perfect summary: "Jez Ross takes issue with the traditional view which sees the early foreign policy of the second Tudor monarch as a costly failure."
Henry VIII for Children
Although written especially for children, this biography of King Henry VIII is actually longer than many written for adults!
Henry VIII: Majesty with Menace
Professor Ronald Hutton's four-page essay on Henry is chatty and easy to read, but rich in content and aware of the King's many bad points. Support is provided by a select bibliography and a list of places to visit, while the professor's picture reveals his hair length to be similar to mine. There's another BBC biography of Henry VIII here.
