1800

• January 13: Creation of the Bank of France.
• May 15-23: Bonaparte crosses the Alps.
• June 14: Battle of Marengo, Bonaparte's French victory over Austria.
• September 23: Start of Year IX.
• December 3: Battle of Hohenlinden, French victory over Austria and Bavaria.
• December 24: Attempt on Bonaparte's life.

1801

• February 5: Peace of Lunéville between France and Austria, in France's favour.
• February 21: Britain seeks peace with France.
• April 2: Battle of Copenhagen, Britain defeats a Danish-Norwegian force when Nelson famously disobeys orders.
• July 16: The Concordat signed between France and the Papacy.
• September 23: Start of Year X.

1802

• March 27: Peace of Amiens between France and Britain.
• April 1: Bonaparte bloodlessly purges the Tribunate and Legislative Body of opponents.
• April 8: 'Organic' Articles added to the Concordat.
• April 18: Concordat promulgated.
• May 19: Legion of Honour created.
• August 3: Constitution of Year X promulgated. Bonaparte becomes Consul for Life and effective dictator of France. This is often considered as the end of the French Revolution.
