Berkeley History Podcasts

Friday September 12, 2008
For the last few years the University of California, Berkeley, has put podcasts of some lecture courses online. I’ve been listening to “History 5: European Civilization from the Renaissance to the Present” while out walking, and have picked up a few new perspectives on events. The link I’ve given takes you to the Fall 2008 semester talks, which has History 5, but you can navigate through the years and find a few other courses related to European history, or just find a different subject which interests you. It’s free, but there’s an option to donate and help keep them going.

I can only agree, Berkeley’s lecture podcasts are very good. Especially History 5, but if you go through the archives, you will find a number of others, most notably History 67B. This is Anderson’s course about the second Reich.

I have a blog with podcast reviews, many of which are history podcast reviews.
