"House of European History"

Saturday December 20, 2008
The European Parliament is sponsoring a new museum to open in Brussels in 2014: the “House of European History”. According to reports the museum will cover the history of Europe from prehistoric times to the present. Reuters is reporting the following quote from a Spanish MEP called Miguel Angel: "It will be a very modest, very cheap project. There is not enough awareness among young people on what Europe is and how it's developed.” There is bound to be argument over the extent to which the museum portrays European wide commonalities and differences, and it’s a major subject to cover very cheaply, but hopefully it works well.
