“The Jacobean Space Program”

There’s been plenty of moon landing history this week, so I wanted to highlight a related post from The History Blog. It’s called the ‘Jacobean Space Program’, and features the story of John Wilkins, a seventeenth century man who believed trading links should be established with the moon and designed a machine to enable travel there. The science certainly doesn’t hold up now, but the spirit does.
