In records about Britain's royal family there's a "crowne of golde" listed. We know Henry VIII wore it, and so did descendants up to Charles I, but shortly after - as the civil war had wracked England - it was melted down by Cromwell's government to raise funds. But experts like a challenge, and a large team has worked to create a replica which weighs 6.6 lbs, and has 344 jewels and pearls.
