1128: The Knights Templar, military order and conspiracy favourities, are given the rules by which they will live.
1544: The family of Gustavus I Vasa are made hereditary kings of Sweden.
1668: The Alliance of The Hague; Britain, the United Netherlands and later Sweden agree mutual armed assistance.
1822: Greece declares Independence.
1842: The single survivor of a four thousand plus Anglo-Indian army reaches safety having been ambushed in the Khyber Pass in the first Anglo-Afghan war.
1893: The 'Independent Labour Party' founded in Britain by Keir Hardie.
1898: Emile Zola, the French Author, publishes his incendiary "J'accuse" article.
